When it comes to specifications, the Odyssey G8 features a 4K 3840x2160 resolution flat OLED panel with a 240Hz refresh rate. It is both FreeSync premium Pro and NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible certified. Most importantly, it features the aforementioned NQ8 QI Gen3 processor, which enables AI-upscaling which should improve quality when accessed through the smart TV apps and Gaming Hub. This is a surprise and rather limiting as it will only work on apps like Netflix, Xbox Game Pass, and other apps from its built-in smart TV app list. It also features a new "pulsating heat pipe" cooling system, which should prevent burn-in and is said to be five times more effective compared to the previous solutions. It also automatically adjusts brightness in order to prevent static image retention.

The smaller and more affordable 27-inch Samsung Odyssey G6 monitor also features a flat panel but with a 2560x1440 resolution and a higher 360Hz refresh rate.

Both monitors support the same OLED Safeguard+ feature, have two HDMI 2.1, one DisplayPort 1.4, and three USB 3.0 interfaces, as well as built-in speaker, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustment, VESA mount support, and FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync Compatible certification.

The Samsung Odyssey G8 is already up for pre-order at $1,299 while the Odyssey G6 comes at a later date with a price set at $899.
