As confirmed today by both AMD and Micro Center, the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X3D will be available at local Micro Center retail shops in the US as of July 7th. This Zen 3-based 6-core/12-thread SKU with 105W TDP will pack 99MB (3MB L2 + 96MB L3) of total cache, and work at 3.3GHz base and 4.4GHz Boost clocks.
These specifications make it 100MHz slower than the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, and it packs less cache due to the core configuration. The CPU appears to be a limited edition release, so there might not be that many to go around, and there are rumors that it might show up with some OEMs as well. Micro Center also has a couple of deals, bundling it with motherboards and memory. Bear in mind that it does not include a cooler but it is a nice update for those looking to upgrade their older AM4 CPU without going for the DDR5 memory.
The Ryzen 5 5600X3D faces tough competition, as even the Zen 4-based Ryzen 5 7600X retails at around the same price. You can find it listed over at Micro Center.
