Intel is expected to roll out the first Broadwell parts later this year, but as we reported on several occasions, the chipmaker will also keep Haswell alive in the form of Haswell refresh parts.

At this point we don’t know much about the actual specs of Haswell refresh parts, although some industry sources have told us they expect nothing but rebrands. Higher clocks are a possibility, but that’s about it.

According to Digitimes, Haswell refresh parts should hit the channel sometime in May, so the first products based on the new chips may go on sale in time for Computex, which kicks off in early June.

Digitimes claims Intel will introduce as many as 20 Haswell refresh parts under Celeron, Pentium and of course Core brands.

Although there are no specs yet, some of the SKUs have already leaked. Haswell refresh parts in the Core segment will be dubbed Core i7-4790, Core i7-4790S, Core i5-4690, Core i5-4590, Core i5-4590S, Core i3-4360 and Core i3-4150T. The Pentium G3450 and Celeron G1840 will go after less demanding consumers.

Intel has not revealed much info on Haswell refresh parts, but the designations  seem to point to a clock bump and that’s about it. Broadwell is Intel’s new architecture for 2014, but these 14nm parts will appear later and they will be aimed at the mobile market.
