Semi-Accurate has dug up a rumour which says that Texas Instruments about to flog its ARM/OMAP division.
Those apparently interested in buying the outfit are Intel, AMD, ATIC, and Nvidia. However any outfit with an ARM chip in process now would not be a good candidate.
Intel is the least likely. It had and flogged its ARM division and its Atom is the biggest challenger to the ARM camp. As Semi-Accurate says, Intel buying OMAP would be an admission of defeat.
AMD, ATIC, or some combination of both is the most likely as AMD is without a consumer electronics strategy, and needs an ARM chip. Of course it had one once, but it flogged it too.
