Samsung has reportedly ordered between 1 and 1.5 million Tegra 2 processors for use in its new 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab.
According to Digitimes, Samsung failed to achieve its sales goal for the 7-inch Galaxy Tab, but the new 10.1-inch version should ship in April.
Samsung's decision to use Nvidia chips in its new tablets is somewhat puzzling, as the company is developing its own dual-core ARM parts. We can only speculate that Samsung ran into development issues with its Orion processor, or that it won't be available in sufficient numbers to meet Galaxy Tab shipment schedules.
