Charles Wirth, known to many as FUGGER from Xtremesystems.org is the ultimate computer enthusiast. He continually pushes, supports and initiates ventures to get technology rocking.
His latest adventure brought him on-stage with Paul Otellini at the Intel IDF held in San Francisco. He got a chance that few enthusiasts ever get, and he grabbed it with both hands. During his demonstration of the latest Yorkfield processor, he managed to break five world records. Not bad for a demo.
Check out the result below:
Charles shared some of his screenshots with Fudzilla, please click on a picture to see a larger version. I must also point out that these scores were obtained using a P35 chipset motherboard from Intel, with 2 GB DDR3 from Corsair. The cooling was done by a three stage cascade cooler, in other words, a freezer, within a freezer, within a freezer, effectively cooling the CPU to around minus 90 to minus 110 degrees Celsius.
Firstly we have the Sisoft Sandra screenshot, showing how much faster and higher in performance this system is.
