Today, our
friends at BrightSideofNews
reported that Intel’s retail channel partner and major technology redistributor
Fry’s Electronics has already begun to sell the upcoming Core i5 quad-core
Lynnfield processor series.
As the story goes, Intel’s socket LGA 1156 Lynnfield
platform isn’t scheduled to make an official debut until Sunday, September 6th.
However, Fry’s Electronics currently lists the Core i5 750 2.66GHz
quad-core, 4-threaded processor for $205 on both its website and its retail
channels. In other words, the LGA 1156 generation and Lynnfield platform have
made an early arrival in both the United States and Taiwan.
In a few hours, we will be able to confirm the news for
ourselves when Fry’s opens and we are hoping the local stores here in Southern
California are carrying them in stock.
