Intel has informed its big accounts that Clarkdale, its
first IGP integrated CPU will start shipping in Q4 2009 and not in Q1 2010 as
many have believed. For many this is not a surprise as it takes time to manufacture
computers and therefore Intel plans to ship the CPUs in Q4 2009 and give the
manufacturers some time to finish them up.
Most of these CPUs should probably end up with the Core i3 brand
but knowing Intel, we would not be surprised that faster version ends up with
some Core i5 brand as well.
Clarkdale and Lynnfield in Q1 2010 plan to take 18 percent
of total market, but Intel still does not break down this number to Clarkdale and
Lynnfield. Since Clarkdale is dual-core and cheaper, bigger part of 18 percent
should be Clarkdale and this number will rapidly increase in Q2 2010 and onwards.
