32nm and 28nm bulk is what they aim for

Globalfoundries, AMD's premium manufacturing fab was launched too late to produce any of the 40nm graphics chips for any of the customers. By the time AMD finished or went really far with its design process for RV740, RV870 and other 40nm chips and all of these chips were designed for TSMC libraries.

Globalfoundries would be able to manufacture 40nm chips if one of the customers would like them to, and we are sure that they will be playing with some 40nm at least as the part of the learning curve.

The Globalfoundries is ready to produce 32nm and 28 nm chips in bulk process and for some reason CPU guys will rather go for 32nm, like AMD while GPU guys would be happier with 28nm half node processed. You can expect 32nm and 28nm processors in 2010.

In case Globalfoundries is successful with its 28nm process, they might even get Nvidia on board, which would definitely be a great victory for them.
