Should arrive on May 31st

Digitimes has put up a list of a range of new mobile CPUs that Intel is expected to launch on the 31st of May, which is a little over two months from now. It seems like the first entry in the list is slightly wrong though, as the they're suggesting the T9900 is a quad core rather than a dual core.

Nonetheless, the processors we can expect to see are the Core 2 Duo T9900, P9700 and P8800 as well as two new Mobile Celeron models which consists of the T3100 and T3000. The Core 2 Duo T9900 should be clocked at 3.06GHz and it's the fastest non XE mobile Core 2 processor to date. It's also expected to have 6MB of L2 cache, a 1,066MHz bus speed and a TDP of 35W.

The P9700 is clocked at a slower 2.8GHz, but gets the same amount of cache memory and operates on the same bus speed, but it has a lower TDP at 25W. The P8800 operates at 2.66GHz, has 3MB L2 cache and it uses the same 1,066MHz bus speed. As with the P9700, the P8800 has a TDP of 25W.

Not much is known about the two new Celeron additions and the model names are suggesting that Intel might have made some majort changes here from the T1x00 series of Mobile Celeron processors. It's worth noting that Intel is already selling Pentium branded mobile processors using the T3x00 model names and we're wondering if Digitimes might have confused the model names here again. However, all the current Pentium T3x00 models start at higher numbers such as T3200, but it might be possible that Intel will launch slower mobile Pentium processors.

The Core 2 Duo T9900 will start at US$530 and this will see the T9600 drop in price to $316. The P9700 will be priced at $348 and the P8800 at $241. The P8700 will drop in price to $209 at the same date. Finally the T3100 will cost $86 and the T3000 $80.

Intel is also set to phase out a wide range of older mobile processors and some not quite as old over the next few list and you can find a full list of those processors on Digitimes.
