Propus, AMD's incredibly small native quad core without L3 cache, will launch in Q2 2009, probably even in April time. It will have a 95W TDP and the faster of the two will work at 2.7GHz. This quad core will ended up branded as Athlon X4 615, and the CPU has 4x512KB L2 cache and no L3.
The runner up is Athlon X4 605 with 2.5GHz clock, while the
rest of the specification is the same. This will probably be the cheapest
quad-core around, and this one will try to fight Intel's Q8200 and Core 2 Quad
6600.
We are entering an era where quad-core prices are well below
€150, with some old technology 65nm Agena cores available for slightly more
than €100.
