Shanghai launch: It is not damaged

Leslie Sobon,
a woman who recently got promoted to Vice president of Product Marketing at AMD that was one of the leaders of Deneb desktop 45nm product, told Fudzilla that the Phenom brand is here to stay.

AMD doesn’t think that the brand is damaged and it will continue using it in processors to come. We also learned that AMD will try to keep things simple with brands, and you can draw the conclusion that a Phenom brand followed by five digits is possible won’t be the final name of the product. We’ve seen Phenom 2xxx0 brands surfing around the net and it’s highly unlikely that this will make it to the final box, even though Leslie didn’t want to get into any details.

Leslie said that in the future AMD will try to keep things simple, as simple is beautiful and the market understands it much better. So you can expect that Deneb-based products will end up with the Phenom brand.
