AMD is getting ready to introduce its server K10.5 45nm processor and they will launch in less than two weeks time. Deneb, the desktop 45nm quad core part will come at a later date.
The runner up chip company is confident that it can win some market share over with
its heavily delayed 45nm successor to Barcelona and we hope that this Chinese
technology capital name will do a bit better than the favorite Spanish tourist
destination.
AMD's server guys are well aware of Intel Nehalem’s server dominance but
this doesn’t mean that there won’t be room for AMD servers and 45nm and
lower power consumption plays a key role in this market and AMD hopes to get a
lot of attention with its new CPUs.
