New AMD EMEA VP is ex-HP chap
Alberto Bozzo è il nome
It is good to be Italian, especially if you are after a high profile job at AMD. Most of the key positions in AMD EMEA are held by Italians with their fancy office in Milan and these guys will just add another member to their nice family.
The new boss of Europe is called Alberto Bozzo and his full title is Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He will take the office in January 2009 and that he will report to yet another Italian Emilio Ghilardi who works as AMD Chief Sales Officer.
Bozzo will be responsible for all sales and marketing operations in EMEA and he managed to spend 20 of his 44 years in HP, as a VP and general manager of HP's Commercial Products division within the Personal Systems Group.
Bozzo succeeds Emilio Ghilardi, who was recently named AMD Chief Sales Officer. So, as you can see it is good to be Italian if you are after a key position in AMD. We hope that Alberto will do well in AMD, but the company should be fine after they get their 45nm act together.
