AMD is spicing up its tri-core Phenom lineup with the 8850, the fastest tri-core Phenom to date.

Clocked at 2.5GHz, the new part will feature an unlocked multiplier for easier overclocking and promises decent performance.

No word on price or availability yet, but we're expecting it to end up around the €120 mark, which would put it against Intel's new E7300 and perhaps even the new E7400.
