$284 to $999

Intel plans to launch three Nehalem generation, Bloomfield CPUs. The fastest and the most expensive Core i7 at 3.2GHz and QPI at 6.4 with brand to be disclosed will cost a saucy $999. This is still good if you have in mind that Core 2 Quad QX9775 had a wholesale price of astronomic $1499 and QX9770 was selling for $1399.

The CPU launches in Q4 most likely in first weeks of November. This is the only Extreme Edition Nehalem planned for 2008.

The runner up is clocked at 2.93 and has QPI at 4.8 and 8MB cache will be selling for $562 wholesale price. It will end up just slightly more expensive than Q9650 Core 2 Quad at 3.0GHz that currently sells for $530.

The slowest Nehelem, Bloomfield generation works at 2.66GHz and has the same QPI at 4.8 and 8MB cache will sell for $284. This is an awesome price for a great piece of technology and they will all launch at the same time.

Let’s just hope that there won’t be any shortages.
