AMD has officially appointed Emilio Ghilardi as senior vice president and general manager of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He will report to Gustavo Arenas, AMD chief sales office and he's expected to start in his new role in August.
Ghilardi joined AMD following a long tenure at HP. His last position at HP was as VP and general manager of HP's EMEA Consumer Business Unit, experience that should come in quite handy in his new position at AMD.
This is not the last reshuffle in the fledgling chipmaker's European outfit. AMD also annouced that Alberto Macchi, corporate vice president of Sales and Marketing for EMEA, is leaving the company "to pursue new opportunities."
So, now it's official and you've heard it here first.
