It looks like 45nm notebook CPUs were not that bad for Intel, at least not in Q1. Intel managed to produce and ship 23% of Penryn of total notebook chips it shipped in Q1 2008.
In Q2 2008, Intel plans to increase this number to an impressive 47 percent. where 28 percent will be based on Santa Rosa platform while 19 percent will be based on Montevina. Montevina platform launches on June 3rd, the first day of Computex, and Intel will have less than a month to get rid of 19 percent of its 45nm Penryn CPUs.
In Q1 2008 Merom was still predominant and this good old 65nm was in a massive 77% of all Intel-based notebooks shipped in Q1 2008, while this number tends to drop to 53% in Q2.
