Chipzilla has launched two energy efficient 45nm server parts. The quad-core Xeon L5420 runs at 2.5GHz, while the L5410 is clocked at 2.33GHz.
Both feature 12MB of cache, 1333MHz FSB and consume 50W of power. Intel promises a 25 percent performance increase compared to previous Xeon processors, while retaining almost identical power consumption.
Apart from these quad-core parts, Intel will also start shipping a new dual core processor CPU rated at 40W in Q2. It is clocked at 3GHz, has 6MB of cache and 1333MHz FSB.
