We learned that AMD's last and fastest K10 at 65nm will launch at 2.6GHz. It is based on the B3 version of the K10 core and it won’t have any overblown TLB issues. There are two names in the game: Phenom 9900 and Phenom 9950, but we still don’t know which is the final one.
After this 2.6GHz part, AMD plans to reveal Shanghai K10.5-based CPU to replace the 65nm brothers, and naturally, these new 45nm chips will be capable of much higher speeds.
Since we know that the CPU launches in late Q2, we shouldn’t expect it before the late May or June time frame, but Computex sounds like a good place for launch.
