An AMD executive said that a year after the ATI acquisition things are finally working, and Spider is the first product that the two companies have done together.
He claims that both companies have different philosophies and that this is never an easy transition. People have to change their mind sets and AMD is not as relaxed of a company as ATI once was.
Spider is their first step together and the new company is working on many new projects. Fusion will be the ultimate goal and we still strongly believe that AMD would be in much worse position if it hadn’t acquired ATI. AMD is making some money on chipsets and graphics but it definitely needs to shape up on the CPU side.
DAAMIT, it is really coming along and shaping up.
