Intel's Chief Technology Officer Justin
Rattner says that his scientists are not being creative
enough.
According to the an interview in this
month's edition of Technology Review, Rattner said his scientists are
too cautious. He said that they were aiming for half of their ideas reaching product maturity. However he would be happy with quotas of 10 to 15
per cent.
He claimed that they had a fear of
failing and he wanted them to encourage them to take a more creative
trial and error approach.
Currently even the researchers' more wild
experiments have been built with an idea for a product behind them.
Rattner says that this is not necessary.
