NASA's Phoenix Mars Lander spacecraft will be powered by RAD6000 computer from BAE Systems based on IBM's Power Architecture microprocessors.
Its mission is to try to find the traces of life on the
famous red planet. The chips that are inside of this super computer are usually
seen in Microsoft’s, Sony and Nintendo gaming consoles but they have a hard
task to survive the 200 degrees temperatures and 80 miles an hour storms and
still process the data.
Some extra terrestrial might come to the machine and take
the chips out for its modded Wii as the mars man have only heard about the
popularity of this console.
