Core 2 duo Celerons 4x0 series also dropped
in price and this price cut also affected the Celeron D CPUs. On average they
all went $2 down in price with some exceptions.
Celeron 440 with 512 KB cache and 2.0 GHz
clock dropped from 62 to $60, Celeron 430 at 1.8 GHz dropped from $52 to $50
and the slowest one Celeron 420 at 1.6 GHz dropped from $42 to $40.
Celeron D dual core 360 at 3.46 GHz with
FSB 533 and 512 KB cache dropped from 62 to $60, Celeron D 3.56 with its round
clock of 3.33 GHz dropped from $57 to $55, Celeron D 352 at 3.2 GHz dropped
from $52 to $50, Celeron D 347 at 3.06 dropped from $42 to $35. The last two in
line up are Celeron D 336 at 2.8 GHz and only 256 KB cache that dropped from $37
to $35 and the slowest of them all Celeron D 331 at 2.66 GHz and 256 KB cache that
can be purchased for some $32-35.
So even $50 gets you a really nice CPU and
we can definitely say that machitecture was never cheaper than today.
