Samsung Sues Over Chip Patents
Renesas in the dock
Samsung has sued its rival Renesas claiming the company is in violation of patents that cover how memory chips are made.
The complaint filed with the US District Court for the District of Delaware has Samsung demanding a permanent injunction against Renesas and its subsidiaries from making, selling and importing into the US.
According to AP, it is not clear what technology Samsung is claiming was stolen, as the company is keeping this information under wraps.
Earlier this year Renesas filed two separate suits against Samsung in the same court. It claimed that Samsung violated its patents related to DRAM. Both those cases are still pending.
