Intel is getting ready for AMD's counter attack. As of 22nd of April Core 2 Quad Q6600 will drop to $530. Today you have to spend around $851 to get this beast.

This CPU has four cores and works at 2.4 GHz and total of 8 MB of cache.

The most expensive XQ6700 still costs $999 and this wont chance till Q3 when Intel plans to reveal QX6800 clocked at 2.93 GHz.

Q6400 is deleted from the roadmaps and won't be released at all but in Q3 QX6600 clocked at 2.4 GHz will drop to $266 only. Intel will also introduce a new Quad core called Q6700 but we don’t know what will be the difference compared to QX6700 as the spec looks identical.
