Samsung decided to keep the screen size the same as last year's models, 6.2-inch for the Galaxy S25 and 6.7-inch for the Galaxy S25+. There are also no big design changes, which is not a bad thing. Despite the same screen size and without sacrificing battery capacity, Samsung managed to make both phones about 0.4mm thinner and a bit lighter.
Both the Galaxy S25+ and the Galaxy S25 get Snapdragon 8 Elite and 12GB of RAM
As said, Samsung pretty much kept the same design, with just slightly different rear camera design. The Galaxy S25 measures at 146.9 x 70.5 x 7.2 mm and weighs 162g, making it slimmer and lighter than the predecessor. The same goes for the Galaxy S25+, it measures 158.4 x 75.8 x 7.3 mm and weighs 190g. Both the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25+ get the new Gorilla Glass Victus 2 front and back, and the Armor aluminum 2 frame. Both are also IP68 rated.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 will obviously be the "working horse" of the Galaxy S25 lineup, bringing plenty of improvements without breaking the bank. It comes with the same size 6.2-inch 1080p+ resolution LTPO OLED screen with a variable 1-120Hz refresh rate. The Galaxy S25+ gets a slightly larger 6.7-inch 1440p resolution screen with same specifications.
The star of the show is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC - a custom one just for Galaxy phones. There aren't any big improvements other than a higher clock, but the new SoC will bring 37 percent higher CPU, 30 percent higher GPU performance, and 40 percent higher NPU performance, compared to the previous generation. To keep the SoC well cooled, the new Galaxy S25 series gets 40 percent larger vapor chamber cooling and better thermal interface material. Samsung is also pairing it up with 12GB of RAM as a standard, and you'll get 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage (256GB and 512GB only for the Galaxy S25+).
The camera got slightly upgraded, and while you get the same sensors - a 50MP main sensor, 10MP telephoto sensor with 3x zoom, and 12MP sensor for ultrawide, - there are several ProVisual Engine updates. The front camera is still a 12MP one on both phones.
Samsung also kept the same 4,000mAh battery for the Galaxy S25 and the 4,900mAh one for the Galaxy S25+. The charging remained the same with 25W wired and 15W wireless for the Galaxy S25, and 45W wired and 15W wireless for the Galaxy S25+. The connectivity features include 5G with mmWave in some regions, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4.
Both the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25+ come with plenty of software improvements, including Circle to Search updates, Personal Data Engine, new Now Bar, and more. The Galaxy S25 series will run on One UI 7 and promises 7 years of software support.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25+ will be available in Navy, Silver Shadow, Icyblue, and Mint color options in retail/e-tail, as well as Blue Black, Coral Red, and Pink Gold, directly from Samsung. The price starts at $799 for the 12GB/128GB Galaxy S25 and $999 for the 12GB/256GB Galaxy S25+.
