Apple phones have a brand-new feature

Tap four characters, and your phone will crash

The software genie at the fruit-themed cargo cult Apple has created a super cool feature that will make fanboys the envy of every Android user.

The same people who bought you a watch which could not tell the correct time have come up with code which crashes every iPhone by typing “”:”

These characters cause the Apple mobile user interface, Springboard, to crash.  The Tame Apple Press [TAP] said that the feature is activated when the characters are entered into the Search bar in the Settings app, or when swiping to the right on the home screen and typing them into the App Library search bar.

The actual trigger is “”:” followed by any other character. Activating the bug crashes Springboard, which then reloads to the lock screen. In some tests, the bug caused the screen to flash black for a second.

Jobs’ Mob is so keen to promote the new feature that it is not commenting and letting it speak for itself.

However, other “journalists” in TAP insist that it is not a security bug and Apple is still the most super-secure operating system in the universe.
