Huawei jumps on the foldable-smartphone bandwagon

Comes with a bigger screen

It appears that Huawei will be tapping the foldable smartphone market as well, and might even have a bigger screen than Samsung's Galaxy F series.

According to details that went online today and were spotted by Phonearena.com, Huawei is already talking to Korean carriers and the device wasn't a prototype or a concept device, but rather "more complete than expected".

What makes it interesting is that Huawei might have a bigger screen compared to Samsung, ending up with a 5-inch screen in a folded state and an 8-inch size when it is fully unfolded. This is slightly larger than Samsung's 4.6-inch and 7.3-inch, respectively.

As rumored earlier, the panel will be made by BOE, the same company that did the curved OLED panel on the Mate 20 Pro.

The foldable/bendable smartphone is definitely the new trend and while standard smartphones will certainly stay for a while, these new foldable smartphones will be the next big thing and serve as flagships for most companies.
