The information was confirmed at the Chinese Weibo network by none other than Xiaomi's CEO Lei Jun. The confirmation came after the evidence was found in the MIUI source code.
Back at CES, we saw the in-display fingerprint reader from Synaptics, and it worked and looked really good. In-display unlocking, notched screen and near bezel-less screen seems to be the trend for 2018. We do know that Qualcomm has been working on this technology too and it remains to be seen which firm won the design.
Xiaomi Mi 7 will most likely sell in millions based on its Snapdragon 845 SoC, up to 8GB RAM and at a starting price of around $475 or 3000 Chinese Yuan. We expect that some versions could end up with 6GB memory, but all of them are likely to come with an OLED display and a 4,000 mAh battery.
The phone is expected to show up before the end of Q2 2018.
