This continues Google's partnership with candy-making companies but unlike the Android KitKat, where Nestle was involved, Google is now going after a different sandwich cookie, the Nabisco made Oreo.

According to Google's own blog post, Oreo will be available for access on Android Open Source Project (AOSP) as of today while Pixel and Nexus 5X/6P builds have already entered carrier testing and should be rolling out to those devices in phases, alongside the Pixel C and Nexus Player devices.

In case you missed it earlier, the latest Google Android 8.0 Oreo OS brings new emojis picture-in-picture, notification dots, Google Play Protect, better battery management, faster boot speed, system-wide autofill, support for Android Instant Apps and more.

Google was also keen to note that it is working closely with its partners and expect hardware makers like Essential, General Mobile, HMD Global Home of Nokia Phones, Huawei, HTC, Kyocera, LG, Motorola, Samsung, Sharp and Sony to launch new and/or upgrade its latest devices to the latest Android 8.0 Oreo.
