Now a leaked benchmark listing has not only confirmed all this but given us a few details. It looks like the Mi 5s could feature specs like a Snapdragon 821 SoC and 6GB of RAM.
For those who came in late, the Snapdragon 821 is an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 820. It should provide the Mi 5s with some performance improvements over the older version.
We are less sure about the 6GB of RAM. It is not clear if Xiaomi will limit the use of all that memory although it is a moot point what good it will do.
The Mi 5s looks like it will keep the 5.15-inch Full HD display of its predecessor. There’s also 256GB of storage on-board but no microSD slot.
The back has the 16-megapixel optically stabilized camera of the Mi 5 and the front camera will have an 8-megapixel camera instead of four. There is a slightly better battery too a 3,490 mAh battery instead of the 3,000 mAh battery on the Mi 5.
The Mi 5s running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow although Nougat will probably arrive a few months after it goes on sale.
