A new LG press release dated March 10th says that US customers can expect the LG G5 smartphone, along with select “LG Friends” companion devices, will be available through all major carriers and retailers, including AT&T, Best Buy, Best Buy Mobile Stores, B&H Photo Video, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular and Verizon, starting in early April 2016.
"You only have to wait a few weeks to get your hands on the LG G5. It's clear from the consumer polls being conducted by the media that people are incredibly excited about the phone and we're very proud of the practical innovations in the G5 and Friends as well," said Morris Lee, LG Electronics MobileComm's senior vice president and head of North American sales and marketing. "The rave responses to the LG G5 from the press and the industry are proof that the smartphone is exciting again and it is obvious that the LG G5 is well worth waiting for."
LG G5 accessories include the "Rolling Bot," LG CAM PLUS, B&O Play Module, LG 360 VR and LG 360 CAM.
The device features Qualcomm’s X12 LTE modem with download speeds up to 600Mbps and upload speeds up to 150Mbps, making it an attractive option for LTE-Advanced subscribers in the US. The battery is a modular 2,800mAh removable unit and LG expects many of its customers to purchase a second one, as this is a competitive feature advantage over other flagship smartphone designs.
