The company is aggressive with its phone line and the main surprise is the Xperia Z5 Premium has a 5.5-inch 4K, 3,840 x 2,160 screen. This translates as 806-pixels per inch which is the highest resolution for phone to date. So many pixels and a Snapdragon 810 will drain your battery much faster but we will have to wait for the testing results to confirm this.
The stylish phone comes with 32GB storage as default and includes microSD card support. Sony brings exclusive 23 megapixel camera to its devices and claims a two day battery life. The new camera for Xperia Z5 lines uses a six-element 24mm lens with a wide f/2.0 aperture, promising good photos.
The Sony Xperia Z5 is a 5.2 inch phone with 1920x1080 screen and otherwisethe same specs. The Premium has 3430 mAh battery the cheaper Z5 comes with 2,900mAh and the Z5 Compact a 2,700mAh.
All the phones are waterproof and have a fingertip sensor, something that is quite useful. The Z5 Premium is 7.8mm thick, the Z5 with 5.2 inch screen is 7.3 mm thick while the Z5 compact with 4.6 inch 720P screen is 8.3 mm thick.
The premium and Z5 have the 3GB RAM while the compact has 2GB. The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact packs a 720P screen in its 4.6 inch format. All phones will launch with Android 5.1.1 and will get Android M aka Android 6.0 at some point.
The Z5 and Z5 compact are expected to be globally available in October with Premium coming to shops near you in November time. We didn’t hear anything about the pricing of these devices.
