While it is denying that there is a problem, Apple might be trying to find a cure for its incredible bendy iPhones.

Belgian chemicals company Solvay SA has won a contract to provide plastic for Apple latest smartphone iPhone 6 handsets, Bloomberg said. Solvay will supply polyether ether ketone polymer (PEEK) which is a colourless thermoplastic polymer, which can be sprayed on the internal parts of the iPhone 6 models.

Of course, neither side are talking about what they will be using the polymer for, but PEEK, used in various industries like medical, aerospace and automotive industry. It is popular for its strength and rigidity and is known to withstand high temperatures.

Spaying the inside of an iPhone will toughen up the product considerably. The question is how Apple will get the spray into the phones it flogged to early adopters. Still no cure for beard gate other than sacking the design team.
