According to AT&T, a number of these markets have been getting 4G data speeds, but not the kinds of speeds that the 4G LTE is capable of. Once these additional 79 markets are added, AT&T claims that its 4G coverage will cover approximately 288 million people in the US. Recent tests have revealed that AT&T 4G LTE speeds are the fastest among 4G LTE providers in the US. AT&T has deployed 4G LTE in 171 markets.
