Leaked earlier this week, Acer has now officially announced its new Liquid E1 smartphone based on a dual-core 1GHz CPU and 4.5-inch screen.
The Liquid E1 is pretty much a cheaper version of Acer's Cloudmobile S500 smartphone and features a dual-core 1GHz CPU paired up with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, all placed behind a 4.5-inch 960x530 screen. It runs on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean OS, has a 5-megapixel rear camera and 0.3-megapixel front facing camera, FM receiver, microSD card slot and a rather puny 1760mAh battery that should, according to Acer, keep it running for up to 8 hours of talk time.
It measures 132x68.5x9.9mm and weighs 130g, and the design seems quite decent. Out of the box Jelly Bean is certainly a good thing.
Unfortunately, the price or the availability date have not been announced.
