The Verge has learned that the update, dubbed Apollo Plus, will bring some new features and fixes, but it will not be the next major version of Windows Phone.
Redmond is apparently planning to introduce VPN support and fix some WiFi and audio issues. The update should also test Microsoft’s ability to deliver OTA Windows Phone 8 updates, so users will no longer have to plug in their devices to receive updates.
Microsoft should shed more light on Apollo Plus at MWC next February.
