Samsung confirmed that it will be bringing local search back to Galaxy S III handsets that saw it removed in the latest update.

Samsung claim that the software upgrade for the UK included an “inadvertent removal of the universal search function,” which is to say that Apple had nothing to do with it. So apparently Samsung is telling us that it has no idea whatsoever what’s in its updates.

In any case Samsung told the BBC that it will provide the correct software upgrade within the next few days.
