HTC reports another record quarter
Shipments up 93 percent year-on-year
HTC might seem like a quiet, conservative company with a delightfully understated PR team, but it latest quarterly earnings report could be enough to make execs and investors open their windows and shout in delight.
HTC’s quarterly net income rose seven percent sequentially and it is 68 percent up over last year, while revenue is 79 percent up year-on-year. In terms of actual handset shipments, HTC managed 13.2 million units, or 93 percent more than in Q3 2010.
Rather impressive for a company which was largely unknown to mainstream consumers just a few years ago. HTC’s commitment to high-end smartphones, which first earned recognition among tech savvy consumers, seems to be paying dividends, literally.
