However, Samsung claims that it has already managed to sell 9.3 million units, so it might meet its 10 million target spot on. The Galaxy S outsold the iPhone 4 in Korea and it has done rather quite nicely in the US and EU markets as well.
Although it closely resembles the iPhone 3GS in terms of design, the slightly slimmer Galaxy S is a much more advanced design, with a 1GHz processor, 4-inch 800x480 screen and 5MP camera with 720p support. Its only downside is the lack of Android 2.2 support, as the handset still ships with 2.1.
Samsung believes it will ship about 40 million smartphones in 2011 and this impressive figure now sounds rather realistic.
