Google has released a new software tool that should allow users to create their own Android applications with no hassle.
Google claims that you don’t need to be a developer and that you need no programming knowledge to come up with your own apps, as App Inventor will write the code for you. In fact, the App Inventor site contains quite a few tips and ideas for new apps, as well as examples of integrating GPS or Twitter functionality into your app.
This is a far cry from Apple’s restrictive development policies, as it gives anyone the opportunity to create apps. All you need to get started is a gmail account, an android phone and a PC.
And now I’m off to make a Fudzilla Android app, as soon as I work out what it’s supposed to do.
