AT&T Bold update is up again
Back online for download in 4.6.0.297 version
The continuing saga of the latest version of the BlackBerry OS for the BlackBerry Bold has taken another turn, with the software again being available for download. It was released and then pulled due to a problem with the firmware; now it arrives again in version 4.6.0.297.
The big draw of this update is the new BlackBerry Visual Voicemail support which BlackBerry announced some time ago; but the feature has been slow to arrive at many carriers, including AT&T. According to our contacts, once you have the firmware installed on your phone you can avoid dealing with customer service by activating the Visual Voicemail yourself over the Web from within the Manage My Account settings on the AT&T Wireless Web site.
Early reports that we have received seem to indicate that the new version is working and people are able to get it loaded and get the Visual Voicemail activated without a problem.
