A French teen received eye injuries when his girlfriend's iPhone blew up, weeks after a similar incident involving an iPod Touch in Blighty.

The teen's mother, Marie-Dominique Kolega contacted Apple and described the incident. The phone apparently started making a hissing noise just before it chose to become a martyr and enter the pearly gates in Steve Jobs' kingdom of heaven.

"My son was frightened but he did not lose an eye," said Kolega.

So, if you hear someone's iPhone making a hissing sound, be sure to tell them about it. Or don't if you don't like them and want to see them maimed or put on a no-fly list for life.
