Four major EU telcos – T-Mobile, Vodafone, Orange and Telefonica/O2 plan to launch Android-based offerings in 2H 2009. This move might officially signal the start of Android's market conquests, as all the aforementioned companies previously mostly focused on Windows Mobile devices.
It is expected that Android will slowly but surely carve out its own piece of the market cake and snatch it from Windows Mobile platforms.
T-Mobile is expected to lead the way with HTC, Samsung, Motorola and Huawei phones, whereas Telefonica/O2 will have Samsung's Android-first – the i7500, at the end of this month.
