Palm Pre is one of the hottest mobile devices and Gizmodo has pounced on the chance to review this hot new mobile. The bottom line is – hardware and software run great, but the overall design leaves a lot to be desired.
Apparently, the device excels in quite a couple of departments – touch controls run great, the entire interface is intuitive and the webOS is great. The review suggests the interface having an upper hand over the iPhone in certain situations, but we'll reserve our opinion until we've tested one.
On the other hand, the build is „plasticky“ and cheapish, and the phone has a too sharp bottom edge, which Gizmodo even demonstrated by cutting cheese with it. The review cracked us up when they suggested that someone else should actually build phones for Palm, preferably someone with hands, as the Pre makes one think about what kind of hard-skinned primate was testing for comfort.
The device is still nice, although we’d say a bit overpriced, but it seems like it might be wiser to wait on the next iteration.
