According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, the first Android mobile phone to hit store shelves will cost $199.
HTC will produce the phone, which will be sold by T-Mobile in the States and the launch is slated for September 23rd. The Android phone will have Apple's iPhone in its sights. AT&T is currently selling the overhyped iPhone for $199, as well. However, these prices don't mean much, as we still don't know the exact terms of the contract under which the Android phone will be offered.
T-Mobile USA is also planning to unveil a new data service plan along with the new phone, which should help it compete with the iPhone.
