LG fights iPhone with pictures
8 megapixel phones
LG has decided that the best way to battle Apple's iPhone is by increasing the spec of its cameras on its smart phones.
The Korean-based company announced that it is putting an 8-megapixel camera on its new LG KC910 Viewty phone that also includes an iPhone-like touch screen. The KC910 comes with a Xenon flash, auto/manual focus, face-tracking, and smile/blink detection.
Quite how having that many megapixels will make the slightest bit of difference (as the lens will still be the same crap you usually get on a mobile phone) we don’t really know.
The phone will record videos at 120 frames, play DivX and Xvid movies, and have a Dolby audio certification.
It will be in the shops by the middle of next month. No word on price yet.
