Hynix releases SSDs based on 72 layer 3D NAND

Hynix has released a new range of SSDs based on 72 layer 3D NAND.

The kit is targeted at data centre and enterprise usage, and come in capacities up to 4TB. The SSDs have 512Gb dies. They come in both SATA and PCIe interface versions.

Sequential reads and writes of the SATA drive are 560MB/s and 515MB/s respectively. Random reads and writes are specified at 98,000 and 23,000 IOPS respectively.

Sequential read and writes of the PCIe SSDs are 2,700MB/s and 1,100MB/s respectively. Random reads are specified at a maximum of 230,000 IOPs and random writes are specified at a maximum of 35,000 IOPS.

The SATA SSDs come in 480GB, 960GB, 1TB and 3TB versions.

The PCIe SSDs come in 1TB – 4TB versions.
