Corsair launches Force GS SSDs
Sandforce SF-2200 paired with toggle NAND
Corsair has updated its solid state drive lineup with Force GS series SSDs. To be available in 180, 240, 360 and 480GB capacities, the new Force GS series pairs up the SF-2200 controller with Toggle NAND flash memory.
As noted, the Force GS series will be using standard Sandforce SF-2200 controller but unlike other earlier SSD series from Corsair, this one uses faster Toggle NAND flash memory which brings improved maximum random 4k write performance of up to impressive 90k IOPS. The Force GS series features SATA 6Gbps interface, suipports TRIM and comes with 3.5-inch adapter.
The maximum sequential read and write is pretty consistent across the Force GS series so 180 and 240GB models will feature 555MB/s and 525MB/s of maximum sequential read and write speeds. The 360GB model has a 555MB/s and 530MB/s maximum sequential performance while the 480GB model peaks at 540MB/s and 455MB/s for read and write performance.
According to Corsair's product specification list, there are some differences in max random 4k write as well with 128 and 240GB model peaking at 90k IOPS while 360 and 480GB models feature 50k IOPS of max random 4k write.
The Force GS Series SSDs are scheduled to be available immediately with a price set at US $189.99, $239.99, $349.99 and US $489.99 for 180, 240, 360 and 480GB model, respectively.
